Dr. Panagiotis Ermeidis is an Internist and Rheumatologist with extensive clinical and academic experience gained during 14 years of professional practice and specialist training in Germany. He has developed a particular expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) and its application in the diagnosis and management of rheumatic diseases.He served as Senior Consultant and Head of the Ultrasound Department at the Rheumazentrum Ruhrgebiet, Herne, one of the largest rheumatology centres in Germany and Europe, where he was responsible for the training of physicians and medical students in musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Dr. Ermeidis holds the EULAR MSUS Competency Level 2 certification, the highest level of EULAR musculoskeletal ultrasound certification, and is also a DEGUM Level II certified ultrasound expert.

Passionate about medical education, he is an active MSUS trainer and scientific director of national and international ultrasound courses in Germany and Greece, including courses organised by the Rheumaakademie, DEGUM and EULAR-endorsed MITOS courses. He has also directed and organised specialised ultrasound courses focusing on polymyalgia rheumatica and giant cell arteritis.

Since 2026, he has been practising privately in Thessaloniki, Greece, while collaborating with the 4th University Clinic of Internal Medicine at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he teaches musculoskeletal ultrasound.

His professional focus lies at the intersection of rheumatology, advanced ultrasound imaging and medical education, with a strong commitment to developing the next generation of physicians skilled in point-of-care musculoskeletal ultrasound.
