Musculosketetal elastography in athletic medicine: from muscle to tendon injuries
600,00 €Δες το πρόγραμμαInformational seminar
Unlock new perspectives in sports medicine through the power of ultrasound elastography.
In athletic medicine, understanding tissue structure is only part of the story. Assessing tissue stiffness, elasticity, and mechanical properties can provide valuable additional insights into muscle function, injury mechanisms, recovery, and neuromuscular performance.
This specialized course explores the evolving role of musculoskeletal elastography in the assessment of athletes, taking participants from skeletal muscles to tendons. Discover how elastography can complement conventional ultrasound in evaluating sports-related injuries, monitoring tissue healing, identifying altered muscle properties, and investigating even peripheral nerve involvement in athletic performance and overuse conditions.
Combining essential theoretical principles with clinical applications, expert insights, and practical demonstrations, the course offers a unique opportunity to explore the diagnostic potential of this innovative imaging technology in contemporary sports medicine.
From muscle mechanics to tendon assessment, discover how elastography can transform the way we visualize, understand, and monitor the tissues that keep athletes moving.

Ultrasound guided minimally invasive surgery in entrapment neuropathies
600,00 €Δες το πρόγραμμαInformational seminar
Entrapment neuropathies are among the most common disorders of the peripheral nervous system and result from focal compression or irritation of a nerve as it passes through anatomically constrained regions. Carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar neuropathy at the elbow are the most frequent compression neuropathies, presenting with typical symptoms such as pain, paresthesia, sensory loss, and motor dysfunction.
High-resolution neuromuscular ultrasound has become an essential complementary modality in the assessment of entrapment neuropathies. It allows for dynamic, real-time visualization of peripheral nerves, their surrounding anatomical structures, and potential causes of compression, including ganglion cysts, tumors, vascular abnormalities, osteophytes, anomalous muscles, and postoperative changes. Ultrasound also demonstrates characteristic morphological alterations of the affected nerve, such as focal enlargement of the cross-sectional area, altered fascicular architecture, and changes in echogenicity. Crucially, its dynamic nature enables the assessment of nerve mobility and its relationship with adjacent structures during limb movement.
Beyond diagnosis, ultrasound has transformed imaging from a purely diagnostic tool into a guide for interventions and, notably, minimally invasive surgery. Ultrasound guidance permits precise visualization of the needle throughout the procedure, enabling the accurate delivery of therapeutic agents around the affected nerve while minimizing risk to the nerve, vessels, and adjacent structures. It also facilitates minimally invasive release procedures through real-time visualization of the hook knife throughout the intervention. These minimally invasive surgical techniques are a game changer, particularly in hand surgery, requiring only a single tiny incision proximal to the carpal crease compared to traditional open surgery. Reduced soft tissue trauma, the elimination of sutures, minimal scar formation, and a faster return to work are among the primary advantages.
In this one-day seminar, you will have the opportunity to explore the value of ultrasound in diagnosing the most common compression neuropathies and discover the potential of minimally invasive surgery, complete with step-by-step instructions on how to perform the procedure safely.

Ultrasound-Guided Botulinum Toxin Injections in Spasticity and Dystonia
600,00 €Δες το πρόγραμμαInformational seminar
Spasticity and dystonia present significant challenges in neurological practice, requiring a precise understanding of muscle anatomy, movement disorders, and individualized treatment strategies. Botulinum toxin injections have become a cornerstone of focal treatment, offering the potential to reduce pathological muscle activity, improve function, alleviate pain, and enhance patients’ quality of life. However, the success of treatment depends not only on selecting the appropriate muscles and determining the optimal dosage, but also on accurate needle placement. This hands-on workshop is designed to introduce participants to the principles and practical applications of ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injections in patients with spasticity and dystonia. Through a combination of focused theoretical sessions, anatomical demonstrations, and supervised practical training in arm, neck and head phantoms, participants will develop the skills necessary to identify target muscles, visualize relevant anatomical structures, and guide the injection needle accurately under real-time ultrasound imaging.
