Ultrasound-Guided Botulinum Toxin Injections in Spasticity and Dystonia
600,00 €
Informational seminar
Spasticity and dystonia present significant challenges in neurological practice, requiring a precise understanding of muscle anatomy, movement disorders, and individualized treatment strategies. Botulinum toxin injections have become a cornerstone of focal treatment, offering the potential to reduce pathological muscle activity, improve function, alleviate pain, and enhance patients’ quality of life. However, the success of treatment depends not only on selecting the appropriate muscles and determining the optimal dosage, but also on accurate needle placement.
This hands-on workshop is designed to introduce participants to the principles and practical applications of ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injections in patients with spasticity and dystonia. Through a combination of focused theoretical sessions, anatomical demonstrations, and supervised practical training in arm, neck and head phantoms, participants will develop the skills necessary to identify target muscles, visualize relevant anatomical structures, and guide the injection needle accurately under real-time ultrasound imaging.
