Post-injection Ultrasound of the Spine

Ultrasound-guided injections have become a cornerstone of modern diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to musculoskeletal conditions. The ability of ultrasound to provide precise, real-time needle guidance, combined with the absence of ionizing radiation exposure for both patient and physician, offers a compelling alternative to CT-guided or fluoroscopy-guided injections.

This seminar is designed for physicians of all specialties interested in learning or enhancing their knowledge of ultrasound-guided injections of the spine and sacroiliac joints. The primary objective of this seminar is to familiarize physicians with the sonographic anatomy of the spine, serving as the initial step for performing the aforementioned injections. The theoretical section will cover all anatomical landmarks, correct sonographic orientation, and needle visualization techniques. The presentation will be complemented by a demonstration of the injection procedure, highlighting practical considerations and common challenges encountered in daily clinical practice.
