Anesthesiologist
Eleni Rafailidou, MD, is an anesthesiologist originally from Serres, Greece. She graduated in 2003 from the Medical School of the University of Crete and completed her residency at the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis, as well as in tertiary care hospitals in Germany, gaining valuable clinical experience in demanding, high-level medical environments. She has specialized training in Emergency Medicine, Regional Anesthesia, and Pain Management.
She has been working for 15 years as a Consultant and Operating Room Coordinator at the largest orthopedic center in Southern Germany, where ultrasound is a fundamental tool in anesthetic practice. Her extensive experience in orthopedic anesthesia and the use of ultrasound includes peripheral nerve blocks of the upper and lower extremities ,including truncal blocks ,vascular catheterization, management of chronic syndromes in the pain clinic and the use of ultrasound in emergency cases.
Training young physicians is a core priority for her. She is a Level I certified instructor of the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM) and the German Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (DGAI), actively participating in ultrasound courses and educational initiatives, promoting the use of ultrasound, which has become an essential part of daily anesthesiology practice. Additionally, she is a certified Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor, organizing resuscitation and emergency training courses
