

Konstantinos Triantafyllias
Rheumatologist
Prof. Dr. Konstantinos Triantafyllias studied Medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specialized in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology in Germany, at the First Department of Internal Medicine and Polyclinic of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, as well as at the Acute Rheumatology Center of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In 2016, he obtained his specialty certification and worked as a consultant at the above-mentioned rheumatology center, and from 2019 to 2026, he served as Deputy Director of the same center. At the same time, he developed clinical and research activity at the University of Mainz, where he also worked as a rheumatology consultant.
Since 2019, he has been an instructor for the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM, Level II) in the field of musculoskeletal ultrasonography, while since 2011, he has been an instructor for the German Capillaroscopy Group under the auspices of the German Rheumatology Academy. He completed his doctoral thesis in 2015, and in 2021, he was appointed ‘‘Privatdozent’’ at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. In November 2025, he was appointed APL Professor at the same university, where he teaches and actively participates in training young physicians and researchers. His research activity focuses on cardiovascular risk markers, modern imaging tools in rheumatology, and the study of rare rheumatologic diseases. In this context, he has published multiple research papers on the diagnostic and prognostic value of musculoskeletal and vascular ultrasound.
