At Scientia, we believe that the pedagogical philosophy in the healthcare sector is in need of substantial modernization, with the aim of placing the learner at the center of attention and fostering a continuous interactive process between educator and learner.
To implement the above philosophy, we have established the following rules:
1. Blended teaching method
Our teaching process includes a combination of hybrid online education and intensive hands-on practice. During his training, each trainee gains access to all the educational material of the practical seminars they participate in (slides, anatomical diagrams), as well as to online educational material relevant to their speciality (e.g. interesting cases, short videos). The above fruitfully complements the classic form of classroom education that takes place during the practical seminars.
2. Hands on workshops
Hands on workshops include brief theoretical presentations on the subject of teaching interest, but mainly intensive practice to acquire the required skills. Hands on training groups are small (up to 15 trainees per instructor) and include both one-on-one teaching (instructor – trainee), as well as the possibility of further personal practice on an adjacent teaching chair or ultrasound machine.
3. Evidence based science
All our teaching material is based on evidence based science. This practically means that the long-term experience of our instructors is combined with the presentation of literature data, but also the application of commonly accepted teaching techniques. During their training, trainees gain access to interesting clinical cases or literature indicative of their scientific subject.
4. Continuing education
Our instructors gradually acquire a more personal scientific relationship with the trainees by exchanging opinions and experiences both in conferences and in other professional settings. At the same time, general guidelines are provided for the quantity and quality of the required skills to maintain and deepen the knowledge already acquired over time.
